What is Hubbardston Township?
Hubbardston Township (officially North Plains Township) is a civil township in Ionia County, Michigan that surrounds the Village of Hubbardston. The township was formally organized in 1844, when Nathaniel Sessions won the first supervisor election with thirty-seven votes cast at Bartley Dunn's house. The township is governed by an elected board and manages local services, zoning, and infrastructure for the rural areas surrounding the village.
