March
World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade
Hubbardston's signature event — a beloved, tongue-in-cheek St. Patrick's Day parade that celebrates the village's deep Irish heritage. The parade's short route through the tiny village is the whole point.
Every March, Hubbardston hosts what it proudly calls the "World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade." Lineup begins at 11:45 AM at the village park, with the parade stepping off at noon. The route runs from the park to the four corners, down N. Washington Street, and concludes at Shiels Tavern where a bagpiper performs. The day includes a 5K run, Irish Dance Troupe performance at 11:30 AM, corned beef sandwich plates from noon to 3 PM, and an American Legion Post 182 celebration from 2 to 10 PM with live music.
