Hubbardston Sawmill
HistoricalOne of several sawmills that operated along Fish Creek during the lumber era of the mid-to-late 1800s.
During Hubbardston's early decades, sawmills along Fish Creek were the economic engine of the community. They processed timber from the surrounding forests, providing lumber for local construction and export. As the forests were depleted by the late 19th century, the sawmill era came to an end, and agriculture became the primary livelihood.
